Hello. Today in my chronicle, I will talk about in the first part about the writer Kerry Greenwood, in the second part about Phryne Fisher character then I will give you more information about her adventures in Kerry’s book “murder in Music”
The author :
Kerry Greenwood is born in 1954. She studied law before writing fictions.
Amongst her novels, more than 2O volumes about « Miss Fisher’s murder mysteries ».
Kerry Greenwood published too science fiction, historical fictions, theater pieces, teenagers and children books.
Miss Fisher character :
Who’s Miss Fisher ? after the vanish of her sister in a strange way, Phryne Fisher decides to live in Melbourne in the 1920’s. She wants to discover what happen really and decides to solve the riddle. She opens the first female detective agency.
Born in a family of aristocrats, Phryne is a woman who loves freedom. She breaks the rule of bienseance however she knows how to use them in the society when she needs.
Phryne lives in a big house with servants and assistants with whom she’s got a good relationship. These characters play a huge part in the stories. More in the book than in the TV serie where the script focus on the main character.
Murder’s mysteries happen in different places. The background is important in the stories. In town, Miss Fisher goes to Jazz clubs and cabarets. On the docks, goods are stolen or in friends houses during her hollidays in the country.
Murder and Mendelssohn novel :
In the book « murder and Mendelssohn » an orchestra conductor is killed during a repetition of Elias. Miss Fisher will find the murderer helped by her assistant Dot, Mister Buttler and the police inspector Jack Robinson. A very curious riddle.
